Cause of Addiction

Causes of Addiction

The following “Big 6”common Nervous Disorders, which give rise to over 90% of the Mental Illness seen at the Family Neuro Health Centre, are the Underlying Causes of almost all Substance Abuse, Addictions, and Alcohol Abuse.

Sleep Disorders
Anxiety Disorders
Major Depression
Bipolar (Manic Depressive) Disorder
Adult ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
Trauma and Psychosocial Injury

These Nervous Disorders vary in severity from mild to moderate to severe and it is only when they are moderate to severe, and especially if there is more than one of them, which is almost always the case, that they cause serious problems.

When you are ready to discover what your own Personal Nervous Disorders are, if any, (or what your partner, relative or friend’s Disorders are, if any), do The Beck Mini Discomforts and Dysfunctions Checklist

You can do this checklist online at any time at www.TheBeckDDChecklist.com, or by appointment with a NeuroHealth Coach at The Family NeuroHealth Centre at Suite 9/88 Broadway in Nedlands, Western Australia.

If you read the descriptions of the “Big 6” common Nervous Disorders 3 or 4 times you may be able to recognise which ones you (or your partner, relative or friend) suffer from, if any. The understanding of Mental Health that you will get from reading the following pages 3 or 4 times and from repeating

The Beck Mini DISCOMFORTS/DYSFUNCTIONS Checklist 3 or 4 times will greatly improve your quality of life.

After you do The Beck Mini DISCOMFORTS/DYSFUNCTIONS Checklist press the Print Report button and get a printed report with a DDC Total Score. If your DDC Total Score is between 600 and 1000 on two or more occasions then you probably have many serious Nervous Disorders that need to be fixed. If your score is less than 200 on 2 or more occasions then you probably don’t have many nervous Disorders and will probably manage without treatment.

The program always prints out your most serious Disorders first, so your treatment needs to be focussed first on the number 1 problem at the top of the first page of the Report.

As you keep repeating the Checklist the program also prints out a graph of all of your previous Total Scores at the end of your Report. This helps you to know whether your treatment is improving your Disorders and general condition, and if not the treatment needs to be increased, or changed.
